JSJ Design were commissioned to create the interiors for Ecco Pizzeria, a new halal pizza venue located in the heart of Manchester’s famous Curry Mile. The client’s brief was to transform the space into a fun, youthful, and vibrant destination that would appeal to a wide demographic, from students to families, while delivering plenty of Instagram-worthy moments for diners to share.

The aim was to deliver a high-impact design that felt fresh and exciting, while remaining practical for a busy 50-cover restaurant.

CONCEPT DIRECTION

JSJ Design developed a bold, playful concept that combines striking graphics, vibrant colours, and eye-catching textures to create a space full of energy and personality.

• We created multiple photo-friendly zones, designed to provide the perfect backdrop for social media moments — from neon signage to colourful feature walls.
• A palette of warm, welcoming hues is balanced with pops of brighter colour and contemporary materials to reflect the lively character of the Curry Mile.
• The design carefully blends comfort with style, ensuring the space feels accessible and inviting to all.

DESIGN + DELIVERY

JSJ Design led the project from concept through to technical delivery:

• Full space planning and layout to maximise the 50-seat capacity
• Selection of all finishes, materials, furniture and lighting to achieve the desired atmosphere
• Development of the complete technical drawing package, ensuring a smooth handover to the build team

Durability and ease of maintenance were key considerations, alongside creating a venue that would stand out in a competitive local market.

OUTCOME

Ecco Pizzeria has opened to great success, offering diners a chic, vibrant environment that perfectly complements its halal menu and modern take on pizza dining. The restaurant has quickly established itself as a popular destination on the Curry Mile, attracting a loyal customer base drawn by its distinctive style and welcoming atmosphere.
