JSJ Design were approached by an entrepreneur seeking investment for an exciting new private members club concept in Brighton. With no venue yet secured, the brief was to develop a compelling vision that would inspire potential investors and help secure funding for the purchase and development of the property.
The proposed club was to include a private members space with co-working facilities, a barbershop on the ground floor, and an adjoining retail unit. Our client wanted to demonstrate the potential of the venture, showcasing what the space could become in order to engage investors and bring the vision to life.
Drawing on market research and an understanding of Brighton’s vibrant culture, JSJ Design crafted a concept that blends industrial character with the city’s edgier, creative spirit. The interiors were designed to appeal to the type of clientele the entrepreneur was hoping to attract—professionals and creatives seeking a stylish, multi-purpose destination.
Barbershop + Retail Space: A masculine feel with raw materials, exposed brickwork, metal detailing and concrete finishes—creating a space that feels authentic and rooted in Brighton’s urban identity.
Private Members Club + Co-Working: A more refined industrial aesthetic with softer textures layered in to create warmth and comfort—perfect for working by day and socialising by night.
JSJ Design developed the full concept design, imagining the layout on a hypothetical Brighton site. We provided:
The concept successfully helped the entrepreneur showcase the potential of the venture to investors, creating a clear vision of a unique destination combining work, grooming, retail, and social space—all with a distinct Brighton edge.
