Leicester One: 56 city centre student apartments now open
Leicester One is a brand-new student accommodation offering, centrally located on Granby Street comprising 56 new luxury studio apartments with shared common areas including a cinema, lounge, study room and gaming area.
Previously the Last Plantagenet pub, the property has undergone a multi-million-pound renovation as part of its transformation into 56 luxury student apartments.
Designed by London interior design firm, JSJ Design, the décor has been inspired by past and present-day life in Leicester. Featuring a rich and vibrant colour palette, with contemporary artworks and design-led furniture pieces, Leicester One caters for students who value comfort and want to immerse themselves in city life.
Clever space planning means each studio offers a wide range of private facilities. Each apartment features a kitchenette with combi microwave oven and fridge, a desk, SMART TV, bespoke case goods and King size bed featuring luxury eco Silent Night mattresses. The bathrooms feature a shower, WC and basin with LED demister mirrors and contemporary finishes.
In the larger mezzanine apartments, the sleeping area is on a raised level allowing for a seating area below.
Marketed by Project Student, all 56 apartments were let ahead of opening. Operations Manager, Shelley Bellett said:

It’s really created a buzz among students who couldn’t wait to move in.”
As well as the apartments, residents have access to luxury common areas, including a lounge, cinema, sound-proofed study area, kitchen, gaming area and laundry room.
The corridors feature hand painted artworks depicting Leicester icons and landmarks. This subject matter is echoed in the stairwells, within a digitally printed bespoke wall mural on each floor.

We’ve successfully delivered a scheme that looks good, appeals to the target market and can withstand the impact of student life while delivering a decent ROI.”
JSJ Design is currently working on a further two student accommodation projects in Leicester, both of which are due to complete in 2024.
