Terraced family home in Hove

This is the family home of JSJ Designer, Jasmin Robertson. Jasmin’s style is an eclectic mix of old and new, with a love of art, nature and colour.

The Edwardian property was built in 1902 and is located in a popular neighbourhood in Hove, sandwiched between the seafront and the Sussex Downs National Park.

THE SCOPE OF WORKS

When Jasmin and her husband Liam bought the house, it hadn’t been updated in more than 30 years and needed complete refurbishment. The couple renovated their period terrace in two stages, first starting with the kitchen side return extension, first floor remodel and full interior and exterior refurbishment. A couple of years later, the loft was converted to create two additional bedrooms and a shower room.

Space was maximised, transforming the house from a two-bed wreck to a beautiful five-bed family home. As the owners didn’t need five bedrooms, one was used as an office and another as a home cinema / family room.

The decor features a mix of old and new, with vintage and mid-century pieces, sentimental items and contemporary art offering plenty of personality. Period features were also lovingly reinstated, including reclaimed and restored front door and fireplaces.
