11 Cadogan Gardens opens to the public with fresh new look

Over the past year, we’ve been undertaking an extensive renovation of one of London’s finest boutique 5* hotels. As of last week, 11 Cadogan Gardens officially relaunched and unveiled its glamorous new look to the public.

News of the relaunch has been featured on Boutique Hotel News and Hotel Designs, with JSJ Design’s Jeremy Scarlett interviewed by Zoe Monk, editor of Boutique Hotelier magazine at the hotel press launch.

Travel Week also checked in 11 Cadogan Gardens as one of 13 of the world’s best luxury boutique hotels, The Telegraph’s scrupulous hotel expert Fiona Duncan gave the hotel 8/10 following her stay and The Independent named it among five of the best bank holiday hotels.

The steeped-in-history Chelsea hotel has undergone full refurbishment, including updates to the reception, drawing room and bar areas, as well as careful remodeling to create a greater number of larger guest rooms and suites.

With its rich heritage dating back to the late 19th century, we were tasked with modernising the hotel interior while retaining its unique character and English eccentricity.

In a turn of fate that instantly reconnected the hotel with the history of the land on which it was built, in 2012 Cadogan Estates acquired 11 Cadogan Gardens. When devising the design concept for the hotel renovation, it seemed only right we acknowledge the site history and incorporate it within the interiors.

Historically the Cadogan Estate was very green, surrounded by countryside before it became a part of London and was gradually developed. Muted greens, golds and botanical prints run through the interior, taking 11 Cadogan Gardens back to its roots, as well as offering a reflection of the ever-present Cadogan Square.

Furnishings mix classic and minimalist; ornate dark wood fittings and woven houndstooth fabrics are paired with bold metallic finishes and clean modern lines. Guests are instantly transported back to an era of glamour and elegance.

Commenting on the renovation, Soliman Khaddour General Manager said:

“We are thrilled to relaunch 11 Cadogan Gardens firmly within the luxury sector following a year of renovations. We have always had a fantastic location and now we have 25 bespoke suites and stunning interiors too. 11 Cadogan Gardens is a unique hotel in the heart of Chelsea where guests will experience comfort and elegance in one of London’s finest urban retreats.”
